What do Machiavelli, Abraham Lincoln and Taylor Swift and have in common? Power and influence. As authoritarianism rises and social media tools grow in their capacity to influence, come learn about the anatomy of power from Dr. Dacher Keltner.
He is a Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, and director of the Berkeley Social Interaction Lab. Keltner is a leading scholar in the study of emotion, power, class, and inequality. Keltner also serves as the Faculty Director of the Berkeley Greater Good Science Center. He is the author of The Power Paradox, as well as the bestseller Born to Be Good: The Science of a Meaningful Life and The Compassionate Instinct.
Keltner is an outstanding speaker who has received several national research and teaching awards. Wired magazine has rated his podcast “Human Emotion” as one of the five best academic podcasts in the country. The Utne Reader named Keltner as one of 50 Visionaries. He has collaborated on projects at Facebook and Google, and served as scientific consultant for Pixar's film Inside Out.
